Alexander McQueen Ad Poster

Alexander McQueen's designs have always been inspired by creativity and individual thinking practices. The brand describes themselves as innovative, uncompromising, romantic, and upholding the power of emotion and touch. Most of my work is colourful or light feeling. I wanted to try something new. The upcoming event at the LACMA called "Mind, Mythos, and Muse" is a fascinating exhibit showcasing McQueen's imaginative work.  

 

I decided to go with a skull because McQueen was known of having a skull symbolise the reminder of death. He juxtaposed the glamour of the catwalk with imitations of our coming doom. He used a skull in many designs. I also included a futuristic element of runway models walking down the catwalk swishing in and out of the skulls eye. My type balancing the aesthetic of edgy with a more refined, classic style. Like McQueen played with contrast in his pieces, I attempted that throughout my poster.
